Denise Loter-Koch - President/CEO
President and CEO, Denise Loter-Koch founded ebs Associates Inc. in 1982. ebs Associates has distinguished itself in the accounting industry as a professional, detail-oriented company that offers expert Intuit and Fishbowl Inventory service solutions. Under her leadership, the company has served thousands of client’s nationwide, established offices in three states, and maintained healthy growth. Furthermore, ebs Associates has earned the sought-after title of Intuit Solution Provider because of its expertise in technology and solution integration for small-to-medium sized business. To assist her, Denise has assembled a skilled staff of nearly 20 QuickBooks ProAdvisors, with expertise in a variety of industries, all of whom share her goal of providing quality products and services.
Denise further caters to businesses through her popular Let Us Teach You the Power of QuickBooks classes. These lectures have attracted thousands of business owners in several states and strengthened Denise’s reputation as an expert in her trade.
Dawn Ashpole - Retired Vice President of Business Development
As Vice President of ebs Associates, Dawn Ashpole has been assisting small to medium sized businesses with their accounting needs since 1989. She effectively teaches businesses on how to properly manage their financials and customizes QuickBooks to fit a distinct business. She is an expert at installing, customizing and designing QuickBooks and Peachtree accounting software programs. Dawn is an experienced businesses manager, Intuit QuickBooks expert, and a candidate of the National Speakers Association.

Maria Jones has over 20 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience. She has been with ebs since May 2002 and in that time she has focused on providing honest and accurate service to businesses, nonprofits and individuals. Maria understands that attention to detail and accountability are vital in the processes of payroll and financial record keeping, so she maintains constant supervision over client accounts and works with business owners to keep them informed about the financial health of their companies.

Lori Hoffman is a skilled Financial Controller with more than 20 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting. She works extensively with non-profit organizations, mid-sized technology corporations and entrepreneurs. Lori is a Senior Advisor at ebs Associates and an expert in all versions of QuickBooks including QuickBooks Point of Sale. Lori brings detail and accuracy to her work on our clients’ diverse financial needs.
Sandy Bever - Senior Advisor/Financial Controller
Sandy Bever is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a Senior Advisor at ebs Associates. Her primary responsibilities include QuickBooks and Fishbowl Inventory set-up, training and consulting. Her expertise stems from both her education and work experience. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Brigham Young University. She also co-owned and operated a residential construction business for 18 years, handling all the financial aspects of the company. She has vast experience with payroll, accounts payable and receivable, job costing, and bank reconciliation. Additionally, she is a Public Notary for the State of Oregon.

Mary Bernhard has over 27 years experience in bookkeeping and accounting. She has her Associates Degree in Accounting from Portland Community College and other accreditations from training programs. Mary has been a part of several different types of business from restaurants, attorneys, medical doctors and dentist, retail stores, photography, graphic design, apparel design, media, real estate, screen writer, CPA Firms, business management, music school, PCC student learning abroad programs, construction, paper exporting, non-profits and many more. As a previous business owner, Mary worked with clients off site and on site. As a part of the client’s team, she was hands on with all accounting functions of their businesses.

Michelle Blevens joined the team at ebs Associates in August, 2011 as a Financial Controller. Michelle has over 10 years of experience in accounting. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Portland State University and is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. As a previous business owner and tax preparer, she has worked with many different industries such as real estate, attorneys, medical professionals, architects, bars and spas.

Diane is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and joined the ebs Associates team in August of 2011 as a Senior Advisor. She graduated from George Fox University and is licensed as a tax consultant (LTC) in the state of Oregon.
Diane has worked in accounting, tax, bookkeeping and payroll for almost 30 years. Her most recent experience has been to provide tax returns and accounting services through a CPA firm to numerous types and sizes of entities including individuals, restaurants, realtors, construction contractors and not-for-profits. She also has work experience as Financial Director for a retirement community, as an accountant for a not-for-profit fund raising organization, and as an assistant auditor for a CPA firm focusing on small city government audits.

Brenda Keomany is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor with over ten years of experience providing office management and bookkeeping services to small to midsize businesses in various industries. She has extensive experience setting up QuickBooks for industry including, nonprofit, land development and construction, manufacturing, whole sale, and more. This experience has contributed to her success at ebs Associates, where she assist her clients with QuickBooks setup, training, trouble-shooting, among other services.

Laurie Bunten is a knowledgeable bookkeeper with over ten years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper and office manager in both non-profit and retail industries. At ebs Associates, Laurie is an Associate Advisor who effectively manages the accounting and bookkeeping accounts of multiple clients. Laurie’s knowledge of accounting and detailed oriented nature has earned her creditability amongst her clients and co-workers.

Sharyina Meier is a new addition to ebs Associates joining the team in May 2011. She is an experienced Bookkeeper who has spent the last four years as the Payroll Administrator for a local restaurant chain. She has an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from PCC and is completing her Bachelor of Science in Accounting at PSU. At ebs Associates Sharyina specializes in bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable and consolidations. Her careful and thorough bookkeeping makes Sharyina, a valuable addition to the company.

Cassie Gorrell started her career at ebs Associates as an Associate Advisor. She has since been promoted to Office Manager because of her experience in management and her straight forward and solution-oriented nature. She has over 13 years in legal accounting and business administration experience and is an expert on trust accounting and client billing. Cassie has managed several law firms ranging in size from five attorneys to several hundred. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Administration with a focus in Legal Science from Western Oregon University. Cassie also has several years of experience as a paralegal, along with Human Resources management in the legal industry.

Kelli Bachofner is the administrative assistant at ebs Associates. She has been with the company for four years. In that time, she has seen the company progress. Due to her diligence and strong work ethic, she has been an asset to the company during a period of unprecedented growth. Kelli is primarily the executive assistant to the President and CEO of ebs Associates, Denise Loter-Koch. In that position, she spends much of the work day performing administrative tasks. Kelli has also taken part in many projects over the years, including assistance with marketing and public relations campaigns. She currently, works at the Eugene, Oregon office. She is a student at the University of Oregon. Her major is International Studies and her minor is Business Administration.

Jessica Loter is an administrative assistant at ebs Associates. As an administrative assistant, she spends much of her day in QuickBooks performing tasks that include accounts receivable, invoices, and client service agreements. Jessica has been with the company since April, 2010, but she has grown up around the office. As the daughter of the President and CEO, Denise Loter-Koch, Jessica has seen the company grow and prosper since her childhood. She is currently enrolled in classes at Mt. Hood Community College and is perusing a degree in Business Accounting.

Lucas Duralia joined the team at ebs Associates in January, 2011 as the Director of Marketing. He is responsible for planning, development and implementation of the organization’s marketing strategies, and marketing communications. Allison Griffith joined ebs Associates in October of 2011. Allison’s extensive 8 year background in customer service and administrative assistance, combined with her excellent communication skills and strong work ethic have resulted in an immediately noticeable impact at ebs Associates. She is currently enrolled in our Accounting Fundamentals Course, and working on her QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certifications to become an Associate Advisor.
